We are a small choral society based in Crediton. We welcome singers of all ages and abilities who love the standard choral works. There are no auditions and scores are provided. We rehearse on Monday evenings from 19.30 – 21.00 during the Autumn and Spring Terms in the Boniface Centre and every second Monday of each month in the Parish Church in Crediton. We also hold our two annual concerts here. We will be holding our Christmas Concert on 16th December, featuring Geoffrey Bush’s Christmas Cantata, which has a piano accompaniment and oboe obligato.  In the second half, there will be choir carols, seasonal readings, and traditional carols for audience participation. In late April, our Spring Concert usually features one, or sometimes two, complete works from the standard repertoire. Although, more than once in our 50-year history, we have performed UK premières! In recent years we have had fun not only singing in Latin but also in French, German, and even Catalan. We were greatly helped in the latter by the granddaughter of one of our members who lives in Catalonia! In the early days of the choir, the choir sang a work in Hebrew. For the 2024 Spring Concert, we will be joined by a large orchestra and soloists for a performance of Mozart’s Requiem. Our Musical Director is Richard Stephens and our Rehearsal Accompanist is Peter Gilks. Our termly subscription is £50 but concessions are available. If you enjoy singing this kind of music, please come along on a Monday evening and try us out. You will be assured of a warm welcome! Please see our ‘Archive’ for a short history of the Society and works we have undertaken in recent years.
